Purpose

The purpose of this course is to produce a competent Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus (CABA) Operator. At the successful completion of the course the operator will be able to; describe the safe operation, prepare, test, and recommission CABA equipment; wear and monitor a CABA; and implement emergency procedures.

 

Course Objectives  

At the successful completion of the course the trainee will be able to:

  • Describe the safe operation of CABA
  • Prepare, test and recommission CABA equipment 
  • Wear and monitor CABA
  • Implement emergency procedures.

Within a BA environment it is critical that a seal is made between the users face and the mask so on this note we recommend that all trainees are cleanly shaven.
