In alignment with New Zealand best practice, Vertical Horizonz New Zealand recommends an electrical supply WTC1 and WTC3 Refresher course every 2 years.

Individuals must hold the below NZQA Unit Standards being refreshed.


Purpose

The purpose of this course is to refresh learning outcomes for the below unit standards. The course will ensure trainees working in the electricity supply environment can demonstrate knowledge of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), identify electricity systems, apply health and safety and demonstrate knowledge of working at heights on electrical network structures.


NZQA Unit Standards Refreshed

10509   Climb and work on electricity network structures

17025   Carry out a rescue from an electrical structure

23229   Use safety harness system when working at height

10507   Use personal protection equipment within an electricity supply environment

10508   Identify electricity systems in preparation for work

18038   Demonstrate knowledge of and apply health and safety in the electricity supply environment

12300   Demonstrate knowledge of electricity industry safety statutes and codes
