Purpose
Permit to Work (PTW) Systems are a safe system of work used in many industries for managing and authorising non-routine high risk work activities. PTW ensures that the hazards and risks associated with such work are identified and assessed, and the appropriate control measures implemented to manage (eliminate or minimise) risks to health and safety. The aim of this course is to enable a successful trainee to be able to prepare, apply for, and receive the necessary permit (or permits) required to safely complete the work activity.

- Explain the types of work permits
- Explain the roles of those involved in the work permit system
- Explain requirements for receiving a work permit
- Explain the preparatory requirements when applying for a work permit
- Accept a work permit and undertake work under the permit.
