Purpose
This course will provide an understanding of drug classifications, offences and penalties under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, as well as strategies for dealing with drug and alcohol related problems within an organisation
Course objectives
On completion of this e-learning course trainees will be able to:

Define drug classifications, offences and penalties in terms of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975;

Describe the behaviour and protocols that are used when dealing with individuals under the influence of drugs; and

Describe how workers with drug and alcohol related problems are managed in an organisation.

22316 Demonstrate knowledge of the management of drug and alcohol-related problems in the workplace. 4 Credits, Level 3.

Delivery via e-learning with support from an experienced trainer.
Who should attend?
Any person working in drug and alcohol prevention programmes in the workplace. They do not hold a management role but are carrying out these duties in addition to their everyday work role.
This course also provides credits toward VHNZ’s New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety (Level 3).
