Purpose
The purpose of this course is to provide an operational understanding of current New Zealand health and safety legislation.
Course objectives
On completion of this e-learning course trainees will be able to:

describe key health and safety legislation, documentation that supports health and safety at work and the role of the health and safety regulator

describe key duties and the application of those duties in the workplace in accordance health and safety legislation

describe key roles in terms of worker participation and engagement in relation to the HSWA.

This unit standard is foundational to an understanding of workplace health and safety in New Zealand. Anyone wanting to develop their health and safety knowledge should complete this course.
This course provides compulsory credits toward VHNZ’s New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety (Level 3).
