The Programme

• Phase 1 - Whakatūāpapa – Selection of candidates

  • Needs assessment & selection interviews

  Phase 2 - Tuakiritanga – Training

  • 10 days noho marae based training including: Health & Safety, Site Safe, Fire Safety, Confined space etc

  Phase 3 - Kirikawa – Training

  • Final 5 days noho marae training including forklift, working at height etc

  Phase 4  -Takatū – Prepare for work 5 days

  • Driving Instruction
  • Workplace site visits

  Phase 5 - Wheakoranga

  • Work experience 1-2 weeks

  Phase 6 - Whakapōtaetanga

  • Graduation Evening

  Phase 7 - Poutuara

  • Pastoral care

Applicant Criteria

• 15-24yrs
• NEET (not employed or in education or training)
• Fit & willing to work
• Able to get to and from work (can include family, car pool, bus, push bike)
• Contactable via phone, text, email
• Able to pass a urine drug test
• Must either hold a minimum of a learners drivers licence or be able to sit a learners licence asap
• Whakapapa Māori
